Blind Australian of the Year FINALIST – Lorin Nicholson OAM, QLD

Introducing Blind Australian of the Year FINALIST… Lorin Nicholson OAM from Qld

Undefined by disability and seemingly indefatigable!

Lorin has lived a diverse life built on a foundation of contribution. His achievements include: industry leading health professional, award winning musician, best selling author, record breaking cyclist, motivational speaker, educator, ambassador and devoted dad and partner.

Orvon Gough, Australian Documentary and Film Maker, is quoted saying; “When you hear Lorin speak, his sincerity is compelling. You want to achieve something meaningful. Not because he did it and he’s blind, but because he convinces you that anyone can accomplish great things.”

When told the news of his nomination, Lorin responded: “What an honour and thrill it was to receive notice of my recent nomination for the blind Australian of the year awards. Having worked extensively over the years in dozens of public functions, fund raising events, media interviews and motivational speaking seminars in hundreds of schools and corporate organisations; I feel very grateful for the opportunity I’ve had to make a positive impact on the community around me. Huge congratulations also to all the other nominee’s. It’s wonderful to see so many others who face blindness, doing such positive things and inspiring others in the broader community”.

Congratulations Lorin on becoming a Finalist for the 2023 Blind Australian of the Year!
